Bank Holidays 2022 under NI Act 1881: Punjab State

Under the Explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Notification No.20-25/26/Pub.1, dated 08.06.1957, the following days shall be observed as Holidays in the State of Punjab during the year 2022:-

10.04.2022 Ramanavami, 10.07.2022 Id-Ul-Zuha, 02.10.22 Mahatma Gandhi Birthday, 25.12.2022 Christmas are not included in the above list as they fall on Sundays.

If any of the holidays for the festivals of the Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special holidays on the date observable.
