Bank Holidays 2022 under NI Act: Manipur

The Government of Manipur declared the following days of the year 2022 as public holidays under section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881

All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule is applicable to all commercial and cooperative banks operating in entire India). The following holidays are not included in the holiday as they fall on Sunday and 4th Saturday.

  •  1/5/2022 Mayday, (2)10/7/2022 Id Zuha, (3) 13/8/2022 (2nd Saturday) Patriot’s day, (4)2/10/2022 Gandhi Jayanti, (5)9/10/2022 Milad-un Nabi,  (6)25/12/2022 Christmas

If any of the holidays for the festivals of the Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special holidays on the date observable.
