Bank Holidays for 2024: Karnataka State

Bank holidays in India are declared as public holidays under explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. The following holidays declared under the NI Act are applicable exclusively to the banks located within the administration area of Karnataka State. In other States and Union territories where it is not a holiday, banks remain open and allow normal banking transactions similar to any other working day.

* Holiday declared on 01.04.2024 for the closing of Accounts of Commercial Banks and Co-operative Banks only. All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. The following Holidays which fall on these days are not included in the list.

If any of the Holidays for the festivals of the Muslim Fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, Muslim Fraternity in Government Service may be granted a holiday by the concerned authority on the date of observance in view of holidays already notified.
