RTGS service charges revised

RBI in its communiqué dated Febraury 4, 2016 has advised that with effect from April 1, 2016, the structure of RTGS service charges levied on member banks as well customers of banks. In the new structure, the monthly membership fee to Scheduled Commercial bank will be Rs.5000 + service tax. The processing charges per outward transaction will attract earlier cap of ₹0.50 (exclusive of service tax) and a time varying charge which is as under

1          From 08:00 hours to11:00 hours –           Nil

2          After 11:00 hours to13:00 hours –          ₹ 2.00

3          After 13:00 hours to16:30 hours –           ₹ 5.00

4          After 16:30 hours-                                          ₹ 10.00

Since  there is no change in the minimum or maximum time varying charge, the maximum charges that can be recovered by a member bank (if it so desires) from its customers will be as under:

₹ 2 lakh to ₹ 5 lakh- ₹ 25 + applicable time varying charge, subject to a maximum of ₹ 30/-.

Above ₹ 5 lakh- ₹ 50 + applicable time varying charge, subject to a maximum of ₹ 55/-.

Inward transactions as hitherto will not attract any service charges and will continue to remain free.
