Now SCORES platform takes up your complaint against listed companies

SEBI Complaints Redress System (SCORES) is an online platform where SEBI takes up complaints related to issue and transfer of securities and non-payment. When a response from a listed company/ intermediary registered with SEBI to a complaint is not satisfactory, the complainant may further approach SEBI using the SCORES platform to get his/her complaint redressed. The complainant can also view the status of his/her complaint in SCORES.

To file a complaint in SCORES, the cause of complaint should be within the purview of the SEBI Act, Securities Contract Regulation Act, Depositories Act and rules and regulations made thereunder and relevant provisions of Companies Act, 2013.  However, all matters as delegated under overriding powers under the Companies Act 2013 are not considered as a complaint. The complaints related to banks and Insurance companies that are handled by banking ombudsman or Insurance ombudsman are also not facilitated in the SCORES system. The complaints related to other than investment in the securities market, anonymous complaints (except whistleblower complaints), incomplete or un-specific complaints, allegations without supporting documents, suggestions or seeking guidance/explanation, not satisfied with the trading price of the shares of the companies, non-listing of shares of a private offer,  disputes arising out of private agreement with companies/intermediaries, a matter involving fake/forged documents, complaints about any unregistered/ un-regulated activity, mismanagement of companies, the financial performance of the company, Annual General Meeting, etc., are not accepted as a complaint in SCORES, even though the complaint may be against a listed entity/ SEBI registered intermediary. Further, complaints against the companies, where the name of the company is struck off from Registrar of Companies (RoC) or a Vanishing Company as per list published by Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), a sick company or a company where a moratorium order is passed in winding up / insolvency proceedings, Suspended companies, companies under liquidation, BIFR, etc., or complaints that are sub-judice i.e. relating to cases which are under consideration by a court of law, quasi-judicial proceedings, etc. are not considered in SCORES. Besides, complaints against companies falling under the scope of the other regulatory bodies like RBI, IRDAI, PFRDA, CCI, and purview of MCA, etc., are not accepted as complaints in SCORES platform.
