Bank holidays 2020: Gujarat State

Gujarat State Government has declared the following days to be Public Holidays under section 25 of NI act in Gujarat State during the year 2020

All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule is applicable to all commercial and co-operative banks operating in entire India). Therefore, following days have not been notified as General Holiday as they fall on Sunday and 4th Saturday.  Therefore, the following days have not been notified as Holiday for banks as they fall on 2nd and 4th Saturdays and Sundays

25.4.20 Bgagvan Shree Parshram Jayanti 4th saturday

16.8.20 Parsi new year Sunday

22.8.20 Samvatsari (Charthi Paksha) 4th Saturday

30.8.20 Moharram (Ashoora) Sunday

25.10.20 Dusshera (Vijaya Dashami) Sunday

14.11.20 Diwali 2nd saturday

If any of the holidays for the festivals of Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special  holidays on the date observable.
