Bank holidays 2020:Manipur

The Government of Manipur declared the following days to be a public holiday during the year 2020, under the explanation of section 25 of NI act 1881.

All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule is applicable to all commercial and co-operative banks operating in entire India). The following holidays are not included in the holiday as they fall on Sunday and 4th Saturday.

(i)Republic Day 26.1.2020 Sunday, (ii) Durgashtami 24.10.2020 (4th Saturday), (iii)Kut 1.11.2020 Sunday,  (iv)Diwali 15.11.2020 Sunday.

If any of the holidays for the festivals of Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special holidays on the date observable.
