Bank Holidays 2022 under NI Act: Kerala State

The Government of Kerala State declared the following days as public HOLIDAYS for the year 2022 under Section 25 of NI Act (Negotiable Instrument Act) 1881.

All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. The following festivals /occasions which fall on public holidays (second Saturday/Sunday) have been excluded from the above list. The branches of banks who work on these days may observe the holiday for the same dates

17/4 Easter, 1/5 May Day, 9/7 Id-ul-Adha (bakrid), 10/9 Sree Narayan Guru Jayanti, 2/10 Gandhi Jayanti, 8/10 Milad-i-Sherif, 25/12 Christmas

If any of the holidays for the festivals of the Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special holidays on the date observable.
