In the year 2022, the following festivals/occasions fall on Sundays which are public Holidays under N. I. Act and hence have not been included in lists:
April 10 Ram Navami, May 1 Maharashtra Day, July 10, Bakrid/Eid al Adha, October 2, MahatmaGandhi Birthday, October 9, Eid-Milad, December 25 Christmas
All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays, as well as April 1st, are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule is applicable to all commercial and cooperative banks operating in entire India).
If any of the holidays for the festivals of the Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special holidays on the date observable.
