Bank holidays 2022 under NI Act: Sikkim State

The Government of Sikkim State declared the following days to be a public holiday during the year 2022 under section 25 of NI act 1881.(Source: No.81/Home/2021 dated 15.11.2021)

*Apart from the above, Banks will remain closed for public transactions on account of the yearly closing of bank accounts on 1.10.2022 (Saturday). The above holidays shall not apply to the subordinate courts in the state of Sikkim.

All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule is applicable to all commercial and cooperative banks operating in entire India).
