Bank Holidays 2025: ODISHA

The Government of Odisha (earlier known as Orissa) in its circular No. RDM-Reg-MISC-0013-2024-39068 dated 12.11.2024, declared 20 holidays for the year 2025 under the explanation of section 25 of Negotiable Act 1881.

The following festivals falling on Sundays/2nd Saturdays may be observed as holidays by the branches of banks for whom Sundays are normally working days

02.02.2025 Basanta Panchami –Sunday

06.04.2025 Shree Ram Navami –Sunday

15.06.2025 Raja Sankranti –Sunday

09.08.2025 Jhulana Purnima -2nd Saturday

*All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule applies to all commercial and cooperative banks operating in the entire India).

If any of the holidays for the festivals of the  Muslim fraternity notified above do not fall on the date notified, the concerned government may alter the holiday date or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special  holidays on the date observable.
