The following holidays falls Sunday (1). REPUBLIC DAY 26.01.2020, (2) MOHARRUM 30.08.2020, (3). VIJAYA DASAMI 25.10.2020 and (4) DEEPAVALI (14.11.2020:2nd Saturday). These holidays are NOT SEPERATELY DECLARED AS HOLIDAYS as all Sundays and second Saturday are Bank holidays under explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.
- As per AP Government notification, 31.03.2020 is declared as ANNUAL CLOSING OF ACCOUNTS DAY. However, other states have declared 01.04.2020 as the Yearly closing of bank accounts. Generally, banks all over India are opened on 31st March to enable them to collect tax on behalf of the Government and only on 1st April there will not be any customers’ transactions in banks. Readers are requested to confirm from their respective banks about the correct date of a bank holiday for the annual closing of accounts.
- If there is any change of date in respect of RAMZAN (ID-UL-FITR), MOHARAM and BAKRID (EID -UL-AZHA) as per the moon sight or any other holiday declared now.
- Any change in date of holiday declared now shall be announced through electronic/print media. The notification directed all the Heads of Financial Institutions in the State shall take action according to such an announcement and without waiting for formal order about the change of date.
