As a matter of precaution, banks are advised by RBI today (November 30, 2016) to observe the following measures in respect of PMJDY accounts.
(i) The account holders who have fully complied KYC norms may be allowed to withdraw Rs.10000/-from their accounts in a month. However, based on the genuineness of withdrawals the branch manager may allow further withdrawals beyond Rs.10000/- within the current applicable limits. The branch has to document such withdrawals on bank’s record.
(ii) In cases of limited or non-complaint account holders may be allowed to withdraw ₹ 5,000 per month from the amount deposited through SBNs after November 09, 2016 within the overall ceiling of ₹ 10,000/-.
