Employees’ Obligation to Bank and other duty compulsions

[This post elucidates about Employees Obligation to Bank/ Third Parties, Abuse of Official Position and Sexual Harassment],
Banking ethics is a committed set of ethical standards and rules that should be followed in the activities of financial institutions and employees of the banking sector. Every employee of the Bank shall conform to and abide by laws in the course of performance of their job duties. Bank employees are obligated to inform their customers about the benefits and risks of products and services offered by the bank and deliver courtesy and attention in all transactions to customers buying such services. An employee shall maintain the strictest secrecy regarding the bank’s internal affairs of confidential nature. They are forbidden from divulging any information about their customers, which come to their knowledge due to their positions and duties, to any person unless compelled to do so by the judicial authority, or unless instructed to do so by a superior officer in the discharge of his/her duties. The employees of the bank should be careful in their activities in such a way that any of their acts shall not lead to any loss of reputation of the bank.
No employee shall use the bank’s assets, properties, and resources for non-intended purposes. Employees of the banks are prohibited to derive any personal benefits for themselves or for others out of their own work environments or their customers’ facilities by using their job positions and duties. They are also prohibited from entering into non-ethical relations with customers, such as indebtedness, personal guarantee and opening of joint accounts, etc. Every employee is expected to serve the customers without breaching or violating the justice, honesty, integrity, reliability and social responsibility principles. No employee shall accept gifts contrary to customs and usage from existing or potential customers
Every employee is accountable with regard to his/her job duties during performance of banking services and shall not indulge in accepting, soliciting, or seek any outside employment or office or any business which recognizes them as a merchant or a craftsperson without prior consent of the appropriate authority. They shall not make deceptive and untrue statements, by exceeding their powers in the course of performance of their duties or take any action binding on their bank. Any attempt to denigrate and humiliate any of the stakeholders of the bank or harm the reputation of bank in media and social media, profiles, accounts or postings, by using their own identity, or by concealing identity or using misleading identities shall attract severe punishment to such employees.
Sexual harassment of woman employee at work place is strictly prohibited. No employee of the bank shall indulge in any act of sexual harassment of any woman employee at work place. “Sexual Harassment” refers to unwelcome sexually determined behaviour, whether directly or by implication like physical contact and advances, or demand or request for sexual favours or sexually coloured remarks, or showing pornography, or any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
