Andhra Pradesh Government Holidays for 2026 – Official List

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has released the official list of public holidays for the year 2026. According to the General Administration Department’s notification issued under the Negotiable Instruments Act, a total of 21 public holidays have been declared. In addition, two festival dates that fall on Sundays are also mentioned in the calendar.

Note:
– Maha Shivaratri (February 15) and Diwali (November 8) fall on Sundays in 2026. Hence, employees will not receive an additional holiday for these festivals.

All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule is applicable to all commercial and co-operative banks operating in entire India). If any of the holidays for the festivals of Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special  holidays on the date observable.
