Bank Holidays 2023 under NI Act: Haryana State

Human Resources Department, Government of Haryana has released the Holiday Calendar for the Year 2023 on December 12, 2022. The letter conveyed that the holidays enumerated in the schedule below shall be observed as public holidays in the public offices under the Haryana Government during the calendar Year 2023.

The calendar of public holidays 2023 in Haryana State under section 25 of NI act 1881 is as under

All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule is applicable to all commercial and cooperative banks operating in the entire India).

If any of the holidays for the festivals of the Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, the holiday date may be altered by the concerned government or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special holidays on the date observable.
