West Bengal Government Holiday List 2025: The Government of West Bengal published a Holiday List under the NI Act for 2025. On 22nd Nov 2024, the Finance Department of West Bengal published a notification stating the list of holidays for the year 2025. The order 712-F(P2) dated Howrah, the 22nd November 2024 describes the details about the Holiday list of the year. Here is the list of holidays in a simplified way:

Banks are closed on the 1st of April every year due to ANNUAL CLOSING of accounts. All Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays are Bank Holidays under the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. (This holiday rule applies to all commercial and cooperative banks operating throughout India). Because the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays are bank holidays. If any of the holidays for the festivals of the Muslim fraternity notified above do not fall on the date notified, the concerned government may alter the holiday date or the community fraternity in government service may be granted special holidays on the date observable.
